Java software developer

Job summary
We’re looking for a software engineer who wants to be a part of small and dynamic team committed to standards-based web application development. You’ll pick up skills and grow in our supportive environment. And you’ll play a key role in an exciting startup environment. Some of your tasks will include:
• Development and maintenance of application
• Database administration, including growth planning
• System administration

Minimum qualifications
• 5+ years professional software engineering experience with Java
• Basic understanding of SQL
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup
• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated, self-starter

Preferred qualifications
• Professional experience in database and systems administration, and/or web development
• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Lucene, and knowledge of web standards (e.g. HTTP, HTML, SMTP)
• Experience programming in PHP as well as Java
• Sustainability interest and/or experience

Account Manager

Job summary
We’re looking to add another Account Manager to our small and dynamic team who’s committed to the ultimate in customer satisfaction. You’ll pick up skills and grow in our supportive environment while playing a key role in maintaining current relationships and creating new ones. The three main elements of the role include:
• Customer support (85%): answering questions by phone and email
• Training (10%): teaching clients of all levels on using FMYI and getting people excited about FMYI
• Account management (5%): proactive followup, receive feedback, address concerns, and help maintain business relationships

Minimum qualifications
• Two years of work experience (can include internships)
• College degree (or two years additional experience in lieu of degree)
• Strong communication skills with an upbeat yet professional attitude (both verbal and written with strong attention to details)
• Team player
• Ability to work in a startup environment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a detail-oriented approach to work
• Computer savvy (comfort using Excel, navigating websites, familiar with Mac or Windows)
• Self-motivated, self-starter
• Desire to learn new online tools

Preferred qualifications
• Concern for the environment and sustainable initiatives
• Experience with providing customer support
• Experience with training
• Experience working with a range of clients (different sectors, regions, levels of the organization, sizes)
• Experience with using and rolling out collaboration software
